「ロング・ウェイ・ノース」でも印象的だった手に汗握るシーンが、舞台がアメリカであることも相まってかの追走劇が楽しい。不意にみせる白などのくっきりとした色彩が、鮮やかながらも彩度としては控えめな画面の中でハッと目をひいて美しいと思う。吹替版の主人公の声がかなりよかった。日本のアニメほど高くはなく、海外のアニメでたまにあるような驚くほど低い声でもなく、声色や演技にとても魅力を感じた。アドベンチャーとしてとても楽しい映画だった。
スチール画像で見ると、日本のいつものアニメに見慣れていると単純化された輪郭線のない素朴すぎる画に思えるかもしれませんが、実際に動いている映像を見ると、その華麗さに驚くはず。
